The museum portrays the evolution of the buffalo through
it's displays and exhibits. Look for the live herd of buffalo and the

A beautiful museum established in June 1965 that has
four floors of treasured memorabilia reflecting the culture and life of
early pioneers of Stutsman County. See historic Jamestown in a whole new
way.

Stutsman County Courthouse State Historic Site Third

South and two blocks East. Turn right on 3rd Ave. SE. The historic courthouse
will be on your right. |
The oldest courthouse in North Dakota. It is one of
two in the state that was built in the Gothic Revival tradition and is
also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Not open to public,
only visible from outside.

The Basilica of St. James Catholic Church 622

The Basilica is only six blocks South of the Gladstone, just past 6th Street,
on the right-hand side. |
Elevated to minor basilica in 1989 because of its unique
architecture and the location of the first cathedral in North Dakota (1889).
Interior renovated in 1993. Listed on the National Register of Historic
Places.

Jamestown Speedway

Go North from the Gladstone on First Ave. and turn left
on 5th. Street NW. Go four blocks and turn right (North) on 4th Ave. NW.
Continue up hill and around slow left curve. Entrance to speedway is on
left, after curve. |
The Jamestown Speedway is a 1/4 mile, high banked,
dirt track. This track offers exciting Wissota Modified, Wissota Street,
Bomber, and Road Hog action every Saturday night! It's also the home of
the Stock Car Stampede which is the largest race of the season averaging
250 cars.

Located adjacent to the former site of Fort Seward,
this center interprets the activities of the fort, which was open from
1872-1877 to guard the railroad as tracks were laid westward.

Established in 1872 to protect Northern Pacific Railroad
